Downing Street Declaration, 1993

The Downing Street Declaration of 1993 marked a development in Anglo-Irish Relations and can be seen as a step forward from the Anglo-Irish Agreement of 1985. In the Downing Street Declaration, the British Government formally declared that she had no “…economic or strategic interests…” in Northern Ireland itself.
